Beat your local water authorities water ban!

Hosepipe ban in your area yet? If you live in an area that already has a  hosepipe ban, or you just want to save precious water, you could use a product developed by one company that not only saves you water, but gets more water to the root system of your plants, with no waste! NuCan Ltd have developed a flow controlled watering  can that ensures every drop of water you dispense can get right to the root system of your plants without watering the surrounding soil or weeds.

The clever device is fitted to their 7 litre outdoor and 1.3 litre indoor watering cans, and by gently pushing the button near the handle you can deliver as much or as little water as you want, without even having to bend your back!

The first device developed on a watering can to slow the flow was the rose attachment, and although it does slow the flow, it also wastes a lot of water too, so NuCan director Paul Bone decided to try to save water in a more efficient way, and improve the humble watering can, bringing it into the 21st century!, and giving you the same control as a tap!

A simple experiment using a hosepipe with a spray attachment, a standard watering can fitted with a rose, and a push button NuCan was carried out to see how much water each one used, and how quickly each one could fill a small tumbler.

 

 

 

 

1. A hosepipe used 2 gallons of water to fill a small tumbler, most of it wasted on the soil around the plant

 

 

 

2 . A Normal watering can and rose took 3 gallons to fill the tumbler, wasting most again on the surrounding soil.

 

 

 

3. The NuCan used a tumber full, and filled it in 5 seconds! Wasting NO water and letting you water in direct sunlight if you want to!
