Gently does it with the NuCan

Look after your seedlings and your plants will look after themselves. That is not the full cultivation story but it is true that the more carefully seeds and seedlings are treated, the better they will be as mature plants.

Watering is crucial in the early stages-before seeds germinate and when small seedlings are vulnerable. The trouble is that the usual powerful stream from a watering can disturbs soil, or compost in trays and pots, and can flatten seedlings.

The NuCan solves this problem by...

Controlling the flow to the precise strength needed for any watering purpose.

Providing a rose specially designed to water with droplets finer than the gentlest rain so that compost and delicate plants are not disturbed.

The NuCan, on sale this spring, is transforming every kind of garden irrigation into a precise operation. The secret lies in a patented system-a valve in the spout linked to a press-button on the handle. As well as the rose, it has interchangeable nozzles 9cm, 25cm and 50cm long (31/2in, 10in and 20in).

The interchangeable nozzles make the NuCan ideal for watering patio pots, tubs, hanging baskets, planting holes, seed drills, the backs of borders, greenhouse plants such as tomatoes, and growing bags. The rose slots easily into any of the nozzles.

Splashes and drips are things of the past with the NuCan, so it is perfect for watering conservatory and house plants, too.

Since the NuCan wastes no spilled water, refilling is reduced substantially, saving gardeners the trouble of walking back and forth to the tap with aching arms and legs.

The can saves money by eeking out precious metered water and applying feeds and chemicals accurately-and therefore economically. It also contributes to water conservation.

The NuCan is ergonomically designed and well balanced. It holds seven litres (12.3 pints) and has an SSP of £12.99 including all attachments except the 50cm nozzle, which is sold separately for around £1.49. The can is guaranteed for five years.

The NuCan and attachments are in selected garden centres now. For stockist information or to purchase at the special mail order price of £13.99 including P&P, contact Lizant Innovations, 7 Argyle Road, Newport, Isle of Wight PO30 5SB (01983-822588).
